Conduct & Child Safety

Important event information

Backstage & Dressing Room Access

Backstage and dressing room access will be restricted to coaches, officials, and event volunteers. All personnel 18+ accessing these areas must hold a current Blue Card. Blue Cards must be worn visibly at all times during the competition and displayed prominently. Entry to restricted areas is conditional upon visible identification and valid Blue Card verification. Any person unable to produce their physical or digital Blue Card, or found to be operating without current clearance, will be immediately removed from child-related areas pending verification.

Photography & Privacy

STRICTLY NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEO is permitted in dressing room areas. Ample outdoor space is available for capturing memories. The sharing of images to social media without explicit consent from the individual (or their parent/guardian for minors) is strictly prohibited. Change tents are provided within each dressing room area for privacy during costume changes.

Sportsmanship & Psychological Safety

SCCE is committed to providing a safe environment where every competitor feels proud of their individual achievements and performances regardless of final placings. Unkind remarks, negative commentary, or disparaging behaviour between competitors, coaches, or clubs will not be tolerated. Such conduct violates the Child Safe Standards and undermines the psychological safety essential to positive sporting experiences. Any reports of unacceptable behaviour, or unprofessional conduct, whether from athletes, parents, or coaching staff, will be taken seriously and may be escalated to your club, Calisthenics Queensland (CQ), or the Event Child Safety Officer. All coaching staff are expected to model exemplary professional behaviour and positive communication standards at all times.

Concerns regarding child safety, unverified personnel, or Blue Card non-compliance should be reported immediately to the Eisteddfod Child Safety Officer. By participating in this event, all clubs confirm their personnel comply with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (Qld) and associated child protection protocols. Zero tolerance applies to breaches of child safety requirements.
